Where to go – What to see

Saundersfoot

The closest Beach to The Buttles. Saundersfoot is a traditional seaside village with a beautiful harbour. Adjoining Saundersfoot is Coppett Hall beach which tends to be quieter.

Tenby

Probably the most photographed place in Wales – very quaint. Tenby is a walled seaside town on the Western side of Carmarthen Bay and 15 minutes drive from The Buttles. There are several golden sandy beaches spanning 2.5 miles.

Caldey Island

This small island is known as one of the Holy Islands of Britain and a number of traditions inherited from Celtic times are observed by the Cistercian Monks, who are the chief inhabitants of the Island today. To visit Caldey you will need to take a small boat from the town of Tenby which is approximately 4 kilometers to the north.

Today the monks farm the island, chiefly raising dairy cattle and make a range of items including cheese, shortbread, perfumes and toiletries.

A great day out to also sit on the beach or view the Island’s rich wildlife.
